At Boston Computer Forensic Services we understand the monetary issues and concerns that arise before commencing a computer forensic engagement. Boston Computer Forensic Services is able to help you determine if a complete forensic analysis of a suspect system is necessary, and if the return on your investment is going to be justified.

In 2000 we began a “Special Promotion” to our clients of our “Quick Analysis” service which allows us to analyze your data for a “Flat fee” of $585.00, and determine if potentially valuable evidence is found. For instance, if a email still exists on the system or if the user installed and ran an evidence elimination program or disk wiping tool. There are rare occasions where a user, well aware of the capabilities of qualified forensic analyst, will attempt to use tools to destroy or hide data. There are also occasions where a user may not have stored incriminating evidence on a system.

Boston Computer Forensic Services will produce a report that includes every reference of the keywords, if located in a deleted file, e-mail message, viewed web page, in any documents, or in any other active, deleted, latent, archival file that exists in your Hard Drive. This will determine if further examination is justified.

Boston Computer Forensic Services will forensically examine a hard drive and search for up to Ten (10) keywords that you supply. We will then forward to you a report that includes every instance of the keywords, whether it is in a deleted file, e-mail message, viewed web page, Word document, or any other active or deleted file that resides on the hard drive. This initial step will help determine if further examination is warranted.

PROCESS:

1. The suspect hard drive is received, and logged
2. A proper chain-of-custody log is created
3. The suspect drive is forensically duplicated (imaged) using court accepted procedures
4. The original evidence is properly stored in compliance with court approved procedures
5. Boston Computer Forensic Services interviews principle to gather facts of the case and clear objectives and a case-specific plan for discovery that is quick and effective
6. Boston Computer Forensic Services Certified Investigators searches the entire hard drive for up to Ten (10) keywords provided by the principle.
7. All keyword occurrences are extracted and documented in a written Report
8. Boston Computer Forensic Services assigned lead investigator forwards the complete Report to the principle
9. Boston Computer Forensic Services Investigator explains the findings with the principle and awaits further disposition
10. The report will help in determining any evidence or indicators to determine further disposition.

This Plan is the “First” step in discovering if “Evidence Exists” and is not a comprehensive evaluation of that evidence. In addition this plan applies to a single Hard Drive up to 80GB and does not include Acquisition of HDD or shipping costs. If client requires a copy on a HDD it will be provided at actual cost of HDD.
